Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name given to Winona Laura Hoowitz, birthed in Winona Minnesota. Parents of Winona Ryder named her for her hometown. Her father Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder's father came from a Jewish family Ryder thinks she's Jewish. The actress is also half-sister to Sunyata Jubal. Ryder's younger sibling is Uria. Ryder moved with her family members to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. They was in a house that didn't have electric power. Ryder was a consummate bookworm and would spend her days studying books since there was no TV. Ryder started taking acting classes at American Conservatory Theatre when she turned 12 years old. In 1986 she was offered her first big-screen role in the movie Lucas when she was just 15 years old. Ryder endured bullying while in high school. Her thought was that by becoming an actor, her bullying could be reduced. Sadly that didn't happen. But she continued to pursue her dream. In 1988, she received her big break in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder kept playing successful roles in a variety of films. There were two Academy Awards were nominated, one of which was for The Age of Innocence (1996).
