Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial singer and composer who weds soul gospel jazz and R&B in a signature mix. Her career path has taken her from Broadway to European concerts and festivals to even at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. While she's based in Atlanta, her roots are located in Chester Pennsylvania. There she first began to develop an interest in music, singing and playing the piano at church. She studied at Spellman College and began to learn the R&B style of Atlanta. The Fighting Temptations The single which featured her vocals"Stalk You the House was released only in Japan. It's been remixed several times, and is the mainstay of her live show. She has also contributed her voice to the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. In 2005 she took on the role of the keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award winner) approached her for an opportunity to be the director of the choral section of Dreamgirls in Atlanta during the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine received national attention through her performances on four consecutive days at the Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform in the Obama administration's 2008 inauguration.
